The client was short of senior staff whilst it sought to recruit a new European general counsel.
Halebury was brought in to provide high-quality day-one legal support by a placement of one our team of senior consultants.
In addition to providing day-to-day support, we identified a strategic need for the legal team. We saw that the team would benefit from working more closely with one of the client’s major
business divisions. We undertook a detailed due diligence exercise on the division’s long term requirements, advised on the need for a dedicated legal resource, the scope of work and type of
lawyer required, interviewed candidates and made final selection in conjunction with the HR team and commercial managers.
We also identified a need for ongoing editorial compliance and spearheaded and participated in the production of a podcast on copyright law that subsequently became part of the induction
programme for all new editorial staff. We also guided and delivered training to a team of five paralegals.
