Halebury was founded in 2007 by former in-house lawyers Janvi Patel (ex Charles Russell and Nortel Networks) and Denise Nurse (ex Charles Russell and BSkyB) in response to the pressures by General Counsels to do more for less and in order to create a genuinely alternative career path for senior in-house counsel looking for more control and flexibility.
Having spent time in private practice and in-house, both Denise and Janvi thought there was a gap between the changing needs of in-house legal teams, the career expectations of many lawyers both in-house and in private practice and the delivery of services between the two. This led to the creation of Halebury.
Today, Halebury has grown to a company of around 30 senior in-house lawyers and an experienced management and support team. Now part of the growing section of the legal market referred to as “NewLaw” Halebury retains its status as a NewLaw pioneer, continuing to offer and develop a range of strategic resourcing options for its clients.
