After reading law at Exeter University, Sarah qualified in 2001 into the Litigation department of Berwin Leighton Paisner, where she specialised in intellectual property litigation and defamation.
During her time with BLP, Sarah successfully defended a copyright infringement case for a large insurance client which changed the law on legal professional privilege, handled numerous domain name infringement arbitrations and defended a news website in relation to defamation claims brought by several high profile sports players.
Sarah has worked as part of Misys and latterly Expedia’s legal team and has found that her litigation experience greatly assists in drafting agreements, having seen first hand the consequences of bad draftmanship.
Her in-house experience has included handling an international trade marks portfolio of over 150 trade marks, and dealing with global privacy documentation and direct marketing email strategy for clients. Sarah has also had a great deal of experience dealing with offshore procurement matters and advising various marketing teams on TV and newspaper advertising campaigns.
Sarah now advises on a broad range of commercial matters, including marketing and advertising law, privacy, e-commerce and intellectual property. Sarah also has a passion for acting and has regularly appeared in short films and theatre productions.
